Staying overnight

Our online booking system provides an overview of the overnight accommodation on offer in the holiday region. There is something here for every taste and every budget. With accommodation in a range of star categories, from holiday apartments on fruit farms to hotel rooms in the Hanseatic towns and guest houses with views over the Elbe to bed & bike accommodation for cyclists, you are sure to find something to your taste. You might not be aware that, in Germany, holiday homes and apartments are also given a star rating. However, a 5-star holiday house does not offer a 5-star hotel service with concierge.

Payment options

Please bear in mind that cash will be needed to pay for items in small establishments. EC (debit) card payments are widely accepted. Larger hotels will also accept credit card payments. It is not usually possible to pay using a mobile phone. Please find out more about this aspect before you travel.

How to get here

The holiday region is located in the south-west of the Hamburg, south of the Elbe and in between the cities of Hamburg, Bremen and Hannover. The nearest airport is in Hamburg-Fühlsbüttel, around 60 kilometres from the holiday region. Even though the Altes Land region is still a part of Hamburg Metropolitan Region, it is worth bearing this distance in mind when planning your journey here. The region can be reached by car, train, S-Bahn, bus or even by ferry from Hamburg. The holiday region is connected to the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (Hamburg Transport Association), which means visitors can explore the entire region with a single ticket. Excellent-value group tickets are also available.
